Daily Picks – January 4, 2019

As we are a few days into a new year, it’s time start posting our picks. I play something almost every day, but trust me when I say I try not to force a play to “just have action”. There will be days when I don’t have anything going and I am very cool with that. What you can expect from me:

  • I’ll post the actual plays that I have actual money on.
  • My posts will show the line I played and what book I played it at. Nothing irks me more than seeing someone post a line they played with a number you can’t find anywhere.
  • Transparency – I encourage everyone to keep a database with all of their bets…wins, and losses. Everyone loses bets and that’s ok. If you can’t handle losing, you will never win in the long run.
  • I do play lots of 2nd half betting in basketball, but because of the tight turnaround, won’t be posting those on here. If you ever want to discuss halftime plays, always hit me up on twitter.

So, with all of that out of the way, here we go:

Today, just one play and it’s on the ice:

New Jersey/Arizona under 6 -120 (Westgate): I am not a huge fan of playing unders right now. It seems every-time I do, the end of first period score is 3-2 or something similar. However, I think it’s important to trust your handicapping, even when it might go against popular belief. Tonight’s game features two backup goaltenders, but neither team is an offensive powerhouse either. New Jersey is playing without their leading scorer Taylor Hall and Arizona is 29th in the league in Goals For Per Game. Another stat I like is on the special teams. Arizona is tops in the league in Penalty Kill while NJ is 3rd. Put all of that together, I do see a low scoring game. Good Luck!
